TransPennine Express have a brand new menu in First Class. Is it any good?

West Coast Kitchen is available on their West Coast routes from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Manchester and Liverpool in First Class. This failed franchise was moved into government control in May 2023 after years of cancellations and customer dissatisfaction. In this review of their Nova 2 (aka Class 397) trains, I'll give my opinion on the new complimentary food and drink, the seat and most importantly, I'll judge if the extra cost is worth it over travelling in standard class. Will the new offering help revive this troubled operator?

This is the second in a series of videos where I'll be reviewing EVERY First Class train in the UK on their longest routes. Watch the full playlist below and subscribe so you don't miss each episode as it drops.
