Deer scent control is a lot harder AND easier than hunters think. What I mean by that is that there are way to many scent control methods or practices that hunters can try, but don't work. The process becomes confusing and overwhelming to the point that I have heard of some hunters - typically consistently unsuccessful ones - that spend over an hour each time they head to the woods, on scent control. The easy part about scent control is that if you control how much scent that you leave in the woods on the way in and out of your hunt, and your stand is located appropriately, then you your scent control practice is nearly 100% fool-proof for even the oldest of mature bucks. Before learning what works for controlling your scent for deer, it is important to understand what doesn't work, when it comes to fooling an old bucks nose.
