We found this 1985 CJ-7 under a tree in a field. We are not sure how long it sat there but the tires were date stamped 1997. They were about half worn so it had been driven a little. It was missing the radiator and the under dash A/C unit but other than that it seemed to be in good condition.

It appeared as if the Jeep stopped running and some effort was put into trying to get it running again. The ignition control unit had been replaced. A separate ground had been run to the unit. A new starter relay had been installed. After some inspecting and evaluating, we came to the conclusion that the ignition switch on the column under the dash was bad. The motor would run if you held the key switch in the start position but when you released it, the motor died. We replaced it and that fixed the issue.

After some additional repairs and checking all the fluids, the Jeep runs great. It has a bit of blow-by but that's not surprising considering how long it sat.

We are really excited to have brought this Jeep back to life and have now passed it on the it's next owner. We look forward to the both of them having much fun together.
