Using a tarp as an awning on your RV, campervan or caravan is really easy and just plain works. This means that that very multipurpose tarp that is lighter, cheaper and simpler than a dedicated RV Awning can replace the awning OR be used as an extra option or addition!

My example is that we take the tarp anyway (because we will mix in some wilderness nights in our camping trip, on which we use the tarp as a tent) and sometimes I will just not feel like taking the heavy and cumbersome canopy out of the caravan. Especially if we stay for only one night, and it is wet out: better a lightweight wet tarp than a huge and heavy wet canopy.
