In this full build video I dive deep into the assembly, painting, and weathering of Tamiya's P-51B Mustang in 1/48 scale.

The kit is easy to build out of the box and comes with a pilot figure. 3 marking options are also included (Shangi-La / Bonnie Bea / OLE II).

I upgraded the cockpit with photo-etched parts from Eduard and added an authentic rivet structure to the fuselage. To show the plane in flight I designed a 3D printed stand.

For the markings I used a set of Montex Masks which I can highly recommend. Painting and weathering take up a lot of space in the video and create an individual D-Day Mustang.

Overall, Tamiya's P-51B Mustang kit is still a fantastic representation of this legendary aircraft. It offers a highly rewarding build experience with excellent fit and can be recommended despite the age of the kit.
