I’m on a mission to test out store bought fermented and probiotic foods/drinks to see if they are truly active and what these companies say they are. Some store bought krauts, for example, are actually pasteurized after it ferments which ends up killing all the beneficial microbes! It does not benefit you as you think it would! Our gut flora is our lifeline to keeping healthy. Eating LIVING foods is imperative to good health. While homemade and home fermented products are most ideal, some folks don’t have the time or knowledge to do this. So I’m testing out some of our favorite store-bought products to show you what I see under the microscope as providing you with my opinion.

This video is of Trader Joe’s Miso Ginger Broth. You’ll see Aspergillus oryzae, which is micro-fungus used to ferment the broth, and some Bacillus. It’s at a 5:1 dilution at 600x magnification - one single drop. I’ll do a few others over the next few days. Check it out!
