Cambodia, where more than half of the country is made up of forests. That's why they say there are many people who travel to rough forests to make a living... People who hunt the fierce weaver ants that live in trees and build nests. And people who climb 20m tall trees to collect precious wild honey, woodchuck. We meet people who struggle under the hot sun to obtain the gifts that the wild provides. A showdown with weaver ants! Unlike other ants, weaver ants make nests out of leaves and live on trees. It is commonly found throughout Cambodia, and is a valuable food that has been eaten in Cambodia for a long time due to its high protein content. Stir-fried ants and fried ant larvae made by adding ant larvae to eggs are said to be commonly eaten in ordinary households. Workers who specialize in hunting only these weaver ants. He wanders through the forest all day looking for ants... He carries a long 4m long pole on his shoulder and always keeps his eyes on the trees, searching for weaver ant nests. When workers discover a weaver ant nest, they immediately go to work capturing it. When you repeatedly hit the nest with a long pole at a certain speed, ants and ant larvae fall into the basket hanging from the end of the pole... The ants often bite, so you have to endure stinging pain throughout the work. Moreover, if you walk all day in a forest with a temperature over 40℃ while carrying a 4m long pole on your shoulder, you are likely to end up covered in sweat. We visit the field where weaver ants, which are a delicacy and good for protein intake, go to great lengths to harvest them. Mokcheong is harvested at dangerous high altitudes. Mokcheong, which can be harvested only for three months out of the year in Cambodia, is said to be even more precious because it retains the scent and taste of the wild. There are people who are willing to do difficult things to find this voice. To collect honey, you have to ride a cultivator for 1 hour and 30 minutes from the village and then walk 3km back. Even after moving with difficulty, workers continue to walk, look at the trees, and check to see if there are any trees... As soon as they find a tree, workers climb the trees. Although they wear thick outerwear and hats to protect their bodies, they climb nearly 20 meters high barefoot... It's common to get stung by bees or scratched by trees while working. There are many times when we run out of honey and end up in vain. However, people struggle to win the golden crown for their families.
