We're visiting our axle supplier, Dana, diving into engineering, discussing the axles we've selected and ensuring they're the perfect fit for our needs.

What's in store?

Meeting with 8 engineers from Dana to finalize our axle selection.
Visiting their factory to see the e-axles in production (though filming inside is restricted due to prototypes).

Exciting Highlights:

-Overview of a 3.5-ton axle, similar to what you’d find in an F250 or F350.
-Discussion of various axle designs, from electric motor-integrated axles to dual drive gears.
-Focus on getting the quickest production-ready axles for our pickup trucks.
-Exploring independent front suspension with hub drive motors for buses, allowing for innovative design possibilities.
-Despite language barriers, we had an incredibly productive day. Our team and Dana's engineers collaborated seamlessly, thanks to great translators. We’ve mapped out a three-step development plan and are eager to get these prototype axles into production.

Special Moments:

-An afternoon full of tours and meetings that left us thrilled about the future.
-Immersing ourselves in local culture, sharing drinks, stories, and forming new bonds.
-Exploring a 2000-year-old walled city and a Buddhist temple, discovering hidden tunnels and enjoying the historical sites.
-On a lighter note, we even did a TikTok dance in China! 🕺💃

Today, we're at the axle manufacturing plant in China, examining the exact e-axles we'll be installing in our trucks. This is a huge step for us, and we're excited to bring these innovations back to Canada.
