When we think of #Formula1, we picture fast cars and skilled drivers—but behind every race is a hidden skill that makes it all possible: reaction speed.

Reaction speed is everything in #formulaOne and not just for the drivers—mechanics, too, live or die by split-second decisions. Drivers don’t just rely on instinct. They train their reflexes daily.
One of the simplest ways #F1 drivers train their reflexes is by catching falling tennis balls. It might seem basic, but this exercise sharpens your brain's ability to react without overthinking. Another method involves advanced light rigs like the BATAK Pro, where they have to hit lit-up discs as fast as possible.

Inspired by this, I decided to recreate this training tool digitally as part of the Algorithm Arena, a coding challenge hosted by Vjeux. I built a digital version of the BATAK Pro rig, where you have 60 seconds to click as many lit-up discs as possible, testing #reactiontime speed and precision.

This system simulates the kind of rapid decision-making that’s vital in high-speed sports like Formula 1—or even baseball, which is what inspired Vjeux’s original challenge.
