This occurs around 3 mm of pad remaining. At that point the rotors should be checked for condition and checked to see if below specification for replacement using the rotor minimum specification stamped on the hat of the rotor. For this vehicle a vibration when braking occurred and even though the pads are above minimum when rotors are replaced pads should always be replaced at the same time.
