This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2025 Ford Expedition, full-size body-on-frame SUV with room for 8 passengers. The 2025 Ford Expedition has been redesigned with new technology, versatility, capability, a new front and rear suspension and a new Tremor off-road model which Ford says is the most capable Expedition ever built.
There are so many new features, let’s start with the technology. This is the most tech forward Expedition ever. The 2025 Ford Expedition has the new Ford Digital Experience with a standard 24” panoramic display which takes the place of a traditional gauge cluster and it’s positioned near the lower edge of the windshield. This enables sight lines over the new oval shaped steering wheel instead of through it. The 13.2” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto is quick and the graphics are crisp.
The 2025 Ford Expedition has a new sliding front console that you can move back almost 8” providing more storage for front passengers and gives second row passengers access to a console with audio and climate controls and cupholders.
The split tailgate is a great, the 2025 Ford Expedition is the only vehicle in its class built with this reconfigurable cargo area. It combines the best of a traditional SUV liftgate with cargo management of a pickup truck tailgate. It can quickly transform the rear area into a table or stadium seating.
Passenger entertainment is covered with a digital device holder mounted to the back of the first-row headrests. It can hold a smart phone or an oversized tablet. The flexible third row makes it easier to carry gear and people. It now has a class-exclusive 40/20/40 folding third-row bench seat or you can choose captains’ chairs. The 2025 Ford Expedition is powered by a 3.5L turbocharged V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. The new Tremor model has more power, 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The Expedition can tow up to 9600 pounds.
Pricing has not been announced yet and the Expedition will hit dealerships in the spring of 2025.
