Israel spent years searching for him. Days were spent trying to find a trace of him in the 360-square-kilometer blockaded Gaza Strip. Immediately after the attacks on Gaza in 2021, the Israeli intelligence services were quite upset about this situation. The name they were looking for was Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. An instruction letter had come from the internal intelligence agency Shin Bet. The letter stated that Sinwar had to be eliminated urgently. The head of the agency at the time, Nadav Argaman, said that Sinwar had become a dangerous monster and posed a strategic threat to Israel. The iconic photo of Sinwar sitting on a couch amidst the ruins of buildings in Gaza and challenging Israel was also taken that year. He was becoming an increasingly dangerous profile for the occupier with each passing day. Argaman was not wrong. They took Sinwar seriously enough, but they could not reach him. His successor, Ronen Bar, agreed.

Sinwar's death turned into a victory for Hamas and the Palestinian resistance. The footage released by Israel showing Sinwar's last moments has already become a PR campaign for Hamas. So far, Israel has not been able to break Hamas' determination to fight. Even its leaders have been on the front lines. Gaza has experienced one of the world's worst bombardments. US officials also stated that Hamas will abandon the war and return to peace after Sinwar. Despite all this, Hamas resistance fighters are still fighting against Israel. They are also aware that the price of freedom is very high. The Qassam Brigades made a statement on the day Sinwar was martyred. Everyone is sure that the struggle of the Palestinian people will continue until the end, until they are liberated from occupation and are free.
