DIRECTOR'S NOTE:
This idea came to me when I was sitting in bed at roughly 2am, mid-July, polishing up an English essay. The moment I learned of Cory Monteith's death I was shocked, perplexed and curious about the details of the matter. Subsequently, social media was filled with million's of tearful posts to bid adieu to one of Glee's greatest stars. One post that stood out was one of Lea Michelle's last conversations with Cory, an almost chilling excerpt regarding Cory's promise to always look over Lea's shoulder despite the unseen adversity ahead.

Cory: "It's your own star."
Lea: "You named a star after me?"
Cory: "No, I thought about that...but then I named it Finn Hudson, because there's already a star named Rachel Berry and she's right her on earth and she's brighter than any of those stars up there. So I just want to make sure whenever she feels lonely she can look up in the sky..."

In many ways, Cory is a star; not only superficially because he is one of the greatest television actors of our decade, but also because he shows that despite the numerous road blocks and challenges in our life, there will always be someone looking over us to guide us. It is not always about shining the brightest, exhibiting a perfect lifestyle, but genuine support and perseverance that will lead to ever-lasting love and happiness. Cory Monteith was, and forever will be a star in our sky.
