2023 Update: Slightly embarrassed by my NEWB-ness in this loong & sloow video. Thanks for bearing with me! And yes, I'm now aware that 4LO is only needed when crossing water or uphill (doh!)

Welcome to my first experience at an OHV recreation area, which was at the San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicular (OHV) Area, also known as Azusa OHV! This is located within the Los Angeles National Forest.

I often venture through these mountains, but had never been inside Azusa OHV. I have a Wrangler Sport S, which comes with stock (all-season) tires. My biggest discouragement were my tires. I feared not making it through some of the terrain and overall looking like an obvious newby. I finally got the courage to go for it this weekend! I took my teen and I, and we went to explore it.

Upon exploring the terrain, I found that my Wrangler's stock tires, were more than capable of crossing this terrain. The terrain seems to be easy or beginner level with some intermediate level areas. Azusa OHV is known for mudd-ers who go wild in the mud pits, but that's not what I'm interested in doing. Instead, I prefer to enjoy the views, check out the habitat, and go for more of a safari cruise.

The footage is primarily dashcam footage. So, I hope you still enjoy the views that I captured!
