In this video I’ll show you the top 6 crosshatching errors to avoid, as part of my pumpkin drawing challenge series, where we are experimenting with art techniques! Whether you are a beginning or experienced artist, avoiding these cross hatching errors will help your shading and give your drawings more depth, texture, value, and form. This is a good video if you're interested in pen and ink techniques, shading with pen, or if you have been assigned crosshatching in an art class or art course.

Learn how to crosshatch correctly, avoid common shading mistakes, and improve your line work to make your drawings more realistic and detailed. I'll also provide pro tips to fix these mistakes helping you master crosshatching and pen shading faster. In this drawing I'm using Micron pen 01 and 005 and I'm working on Canson toned gray paper.

This is day 3 of the pumpkin drawing challenge, where I'll be drawing pumpkins 10 different ways throughout the fall season. Click on my pumpking drawing challenge playlist for more pumpkin drawing videos, and follow along for the rest of the series!
