Everyone loves a happy ending, but what every perfect ending has in common is not, in fact, happiness. Today I try to break down how to write a perfect ending to a story. I analyze two examples in this video: Uncut Gems and Sound of Metal. I believe these movies have perfect endings, and I don't think they follow a traditional structure.
I talk about conflict, resolution, and introduce Kishotenketsu, the four act structure to story telling used in places like Japan.
