Jong il Kwak, a Korean Knight of Columbus, integrates Catholic faith into Korean funerals and memorials, challenging the country's strong Confucian fear of death. He founded a funeral business to create a space where the living and deceased coexist, envisioning a sculpture park-like sanctuary for prayer and contemplation. Over nine years, he has focused on inviting men to join the Knights, establishing a service-oriented fraternity for Korean Catholics. He is also active in the pro-life movement, advocating for a society where individuals can choose to have and raise children, and believes in the significant growth of the Knights of Columbus in Korea.
