I traded a Vox amplifier for this mid 1980's Tama Kit on a Craigslist deal about 1.5 years back. All of the hardware was removed from the shells and the edges were sanded and repaired. The shell was then painted black. I digitally fabricated the designs by recycling images from existing collage art, sized and printed the images on paper, handcut each image and glued it to the shell. The next step is to cover the whole thing in UV protective Varnish and then seal it all in with a hard and durable topcoat for protection against future damage.

Here I am just taping the paper to the shell to get an idea of where to put the pieces once the glue is applied. Should be ready to gig in a week or so!
