Shantiniketan is not just another beautiful place to visit, for a Bengali. It is a cultural retreat, where you can go to find the origin. It was always my dream, rather our (Me and Misti) dream to roam around the streets of Bolpur. Though we could go there earlier, we did not and there are two main reasons behind that. Firstly we have we have to come back the same day and secondly we did not want to visite Santiniketan like a tourist. We wanted to feel the vibe, feel the air, smell the earth, we wanted to be with the culture. But that was not possible from behind the glass windows. So our plan kept postponed for the next years.
Then cycling came to our lives (this time 'our' refers to all the members of the group). We were planning a long road trip for some time and searching for places to go to. As this was the first cycling tour for all of us, we were very much excited. While searching for places this was one of the prime concern that the place must justify our enthusiasm. After look for some places to finalize 'Bolpur Santiniketan'. After all, what could be the better place to visit for some literature and adventure enthusiast people like us. Also what could be the better way to explore and feel Santiniketan than riding a cycle.
So we booked, Park Guest House Santiniketan, packed our bags and went on. We met on Daksineswar and took NH2 / Delhi road till Bardhwan, then right turn to Guskara Bolpur road. We enjoy every bit of Shantiniketan e.g. khoai, sonajhuri hat, konkalitola, biswabharati, prantik, kopai, damodor and what not.
I hope you will like this video if so thank you. Part 2 will come very soon.
