A temporary bridge is built to allow a 356 tonne generator to be transported over an old village bridge in Suffolk, UK. A police escort keeps the village clear of traffic as the oversized load passes through into the night.

Allelys transported the Siemens Energy generator, weighing 356 tonnes and at 81 metres in length, from the Port of Ipswich to the Eye Synchronous Condenser Plant (read more: https://conradenergy.co.uk/energy-gen... ) in Yaxley, Suffolk on Sunday, 18th August.

The heavy haulage company had to construct a temporary overbridge in the village of Brockford Street, to take the weight off an old bridge crossing the River Dove.

Suffolk & Norfolk Police Roads & Armed Policing Team (RAPT) escorted the abnormal load from Ipswich to Yaxley. Several police cars and motorcycles were used to shutdown roads as the abnormal load moved. A Tesla police vehicle led the escort.

Suffolk County Council, road maintenance teams, and utility companies assisted with the movement of the wide load. Street furniture had to be moved and roads closed. Traffic was disrupted as a result.

It took the entirety of Sunday to complete the move, which was delayed by 5 hours.
