This Mint Lemonade Recipe (sharbat) is so refreshing on a hot summer day, you can make it as sweet or as tart as you’d like. After I made this batch, I made another, smaller batch of sugar syrup because the rest of my family likes their drinks much sweeter. This is a great way to use up the left over mint in your garden.

Sugar syrup
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
Boil together until all the sugar is melted and the syrup just starts to thicken. Let it sit in the fridge until it’s time to add it to the drink.

48 ounces of ice cold water
20 mint leaves
The juice of 4 lemons or 1/2 cup of lemon juice (more if you want it to be tarter)

Put all of the ingredients (including the sugar syrup) into a blender and let it do its magic. If you want this to go faster and dirty more equipment, you can put the mint into a food processor in order to break it up easier because in a blender it will take a little while. Blend it until there are only microscopic bits of mint remaining. Add ice to your glasses and if you want, strain out as much of the mint as you can. Drink it up and stay hydrated. Its hot out there!
