William and Rose were in a relationship during their last year of college, but had to break up because Rose had to go to California to become a teacher.
William had a set-up marriage while Rose was in California. The woman’s name was Marylin.
Marylin cheated on William (or she was r4p3d, you choose how to see it) with a currently unknown man. From that, she had a son: Michael.
William divorced Marylin for cheating on him. He also got full custody of Michael.
Michael is (currently) unaware that neither Rosaline nor William are his biological parents. This was Rosaline’s choice (or fault, depending on how you see it) as she did not want to “break his heart”. Michael also had no idea whatsoever of Marylin’s existence.
Marylin originally named Michael “Norman Evan Afton”, but William changed it to Michael Terrance Afton. Reasons?1. He didn’t want Michael to remind him more of Marylin than he already did, and 2. He thought the name was stupid
