A low-level employee at an advertising company, Ling Zhaoxiang (played by Wong Jing), moves into a secluded house. By chance, he meets a beautiful woman, Bingqi (played by Rosamund Kwan), and they have a one-night stand. Feeling guilty towards his wife after waking up, Zhaoxiang decides to cut ties with Bingqi. However, Bingqi mistakenly believes that Zhaoxiang is a heartless man.

In reality, Bingqi is a ghost. Her entire family was killed by Johnny, a man who deceived her in love. Seeking revenge, Bingqi and her family plan to take Zhaoxiang's family as their replacements. With guidance from his grandfather, Zhaoxiang enlists the help of a Taoist priest to fend off the vengeful spirits.
