It's an impromptu invitation to seven of us who are past our 30s to give ourselves unforgettable memories.

Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Malaysia with an elevation of 4,095 metres situated within the Kinabalu National Park in the north of the Malaysian State of Sabah, Borneo. Located approximately 90 KM away from Kota Kinabalu city (About 2 hours’ drive away). Mount Kinabalu open to climbers all year round. Preferably March to September is considered the best season to climb as it is a dry season. However, due to Mount Kinabalu located within tropical rainforest, passing showers and heavy rain could happened at any time of the year. It was rained for our first day climb, but it turned clear sky for our second day.

It can be completed in 2 days 1 night with the 8.72 KM trail. Challenge came from physical, mental, and spiritual as it is an uphill climb. Day 1 usually took 5-7 hours climb and Day 2 will climb 4-5 hours to Low's Peak. (the summit). There is no age limit for Mount Kinabalu Climbers. As long as you are in good health status. It is very possible to climb Mount Kinabalu with children and senior citizen if you are well prepared. There is no upper age limit.

There are different ways to get yourself registered for the permit, either through Sabah Park (cheaper option) or a private tour. We are arranged with a private tour agent named Borneo Calling. They provided a great service to handle all your queries professionally before the hike, hassle-free during the hike, and safely transfer us back to the city after the hike.

Our mountain guides cum porters (Adip and Calsbil) are superb as well. They make sure we have a safe climb and fully enjoy the entire journey.

Overall, it's such a great experience and a super fun hike, although we will not be coming back again in the short term. ^^
