It was such an honour for me to perform this song at the 50 years Jubilee of 'Council of Nagalim Churches'.

Nagaland, one of the northeastern states in India, has a rich cultural heritage deeply intertwined with its Christian faith.

All of the Naga-inhabited regions of neighboring Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Naga habitat areas of Myanmar—which is regarded as the Nagas' ancestral homeland—are collectively referred to as "Nagalim." At the intersection of China, India, and Myanmar rests the long-standing aspiration for the Nagalim, an independent state. Compared to the current State of Nagaland, which has an area of 16,527 sq. km., the Naga ancestor land- Nagalim spans over around 1,20,000 sq. km.

Patriotic songs in Nagalim often reflect the state's ( Nagalim) unique identity, its struggles for autonomy, and its deep-rooted connection to its churches. This song, " Nagalim for Christ: Our Secret Vow " reflects themes and imagery of Nagaland churches that take a pivotal role in fostering patriotism and unity among Naga people. They serve as community centers where people gather to pray, socialize, and celebrate their cultural heritage.

Patriotic songs are often sung in these churches during special occasions and this song is sung on the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC), reinforcing the state's commitment to the nation and its values.

Naga churches have played a vital role in fostering peace in the Indo-Naga conflict. They have provided platforms for dialogue, facilitated ceasefires, and promoted reconciliation among the Naga people. By emphasizing the importance of unity, forgiveness, and non-violence, the churches have helped to create a conducive environment for peace talks and ultimately contributed to the ongoing peace process in the Naga-inhabited regions.
