Every year, the Oberland District Music Festival attracts numerous music enthusiasts from near and far to East Tyrol, and the tradition was upheld in 2024 as well. This year, on the weekend of July 27th and 28th, 2024, the 100th anniversary of the Pustertal-Oberland Music District was celebrated with a grand festival in Sillian.

On Saturday, the music festival was officially opened with the march-in of the Sillian brass band and the subsequent tapping of the beer keg by district chairman Otto Trauner and district bandmaster Martin Bodner. Following a concert by the Sillian brass band, there was dancing and entertainment provided by the "Goldrieder" group.

On Sunday, we captured the grand parade with our camera, in which 13 brass bands and 10 festival wagons participated. Following the parade, the official ceremony was held at the marketplace. Around 700 musicians played several marches together, creating an incredible soundscape over the Pustertal. As part of the music festival, long-serving musicians and young musicians who achieved a performance badge this year were honored. The festival weekend concluded on Sunday with solo performances by guest bands from Tesido/Taisten (Pustertal/South Tyrol Music District) and Thurn (Lienz Valley Music District), as well as the group "Moritz & CO" from Burgenland.
