There are 3 main aspects that I focus on when e-scouting a new public property for deer hunting, whether it be in state or out of state. Those 3 aspects are ACCESS, EDGE and HABITAT DIVERSITY. You can easily get lost for days evaluating a new property or searching for a property to hunt, I know I do! By focusing on these 3 factors I can determine whether I can possibly escape human intrusion, whether I can possibly be successful on a short hunt and also whether that property has a dense and mature deer herd. Of course this is not as exact science and you will still be required to do you do diligence with putting boots on the ground and time on property with post season scouting.
