The gowns I see most these days are simple in their design, fitting closely to the body with little skirt "fluff". Because there is less fabric in the hip area and the train is usually shorter, trying to do a Ballroom or a French bustle as shone above would just look silly. So, a one-point Pick-up Bustles works best either in the Ballroom or French style.
