COLUMBUS (Ashley Yore) -- Students will be attending a Columbus high school for the last time Thursday, and not because of summer vacation. Brookhaven High School on Karl Road is one of five Columbus schools closing for good.

School board members have blamed the closing on poor attendance and expensive building repairs. The other scheduled closures include a middle school and three elementary schools.

Brookhaven students told ABC 6/FOX 28 parting with their high school is tough, especially juniors who will spend their senior years at different schools. School board members say many of Brookhaven's students will go to Mifflin High, with Brookhaven's principal vowing to oversee the merger.
