Planning your own trip to Hualien? Add these to your itinerary!
1. Visit Taroko Gorge National Park - it is easily the highlight of Hualien and perfect for hiking and nature enthusiasts! (Featured in this video are the Zhuilu and Shakadong trails. As mentioned, you can apply for permits for the Zhuilu trail here: https://npm.cpami.gov.tw/en/apply_1_2...)
2. Spend a day at the beautiful Qixingtan Beach and town - known for its views and scenery!
3. Check out Liyu Lake, the largest lake in Eastern Taiwan and filled with tons of lake and lakeside activities!
4. Have some extra time? Have a beach day at 鹽寮 蔚藍海岸 and 七七高地 to see some amazing, panoramic views over Hualien City. (I believe in English this is known as the White Dunes and Coline 77?)
5. Try some of Hualien’s unique snacks at the Dongdamen Night Market!
