We navigate an endless labyrinth of giant mangroves which protects the Chiapas coast. It is a habitat for birds with colorful plumage and a place where crocodiles and alligators abound.

We approach the communities to listen to the stories of those who have learned to live in this essential environment.

Here the Pacific Ocean intermixes with the fresh water of Soconusco, and the golden sunsets witness the arrival of thousands of turtles who choose these beaches to leave their offspring.

With the first rays of the Sun, we are captivated by the greatness of the Crossroads. This Biosphere Reserve is an endless network of mangroves which covers more than 140,000 hectares. It is so large that it is part of several Soconusco municipalities such as Mazatán, Huixtla, Acapetahua, and Mapastepec.
