This viewpoint journey from Harrison To Chehalis begins at Harrison Mills river walk, a trail heading north from the confluence of Harrison River and the Fraser River.  As you walk along the riverside you see the distant fields of the Fraser Valley behind you and the great mountains of the north rising up in front of you. The Harrison And Chehalis River Valleys branch off and disappear deep into the mountains.

As you reach the lakes you stand at the edge of the wild north, the long valley corridors climbing into the northwest Cascade Ranges that eventually merge with the Coastal Mountains. Iconic granite peaks, glaciers, coastal forests, lakes, camping and hiking trails, this is a place full of discovery and adventure.

Following a forest service road to the southwestern side of Harrison Lake I found the second viewpoint overlooking the southern lake islands and the majestic eastern mountain ranges across the lake. To the north, you can see more islands as the lake turns and extends much further to the northwest.

The third viewpoint on this journey heads further northwest to the Great Slide Lookout following the forest service road to Chehalis Lake from the Chehalis River Valley. A very scenic route crossing over many bridges leading to a large glacier lake with stunning views of the Chehalis mountain ranges, tall and rugged granite peaks covered in snow for most of the year surrounded by serene mountain forests, rivers and waterfalls.
