Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. Lying at the heart of Europe. In 1992 the historic city centre was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. it is often called “city of a hundred spires.”
In this video we will look at the most famous attractions of this beautiful city.
PRAGUE CASTLE is the most important Czech castle. in history it was the seat of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire and is now the seat of the president. According to the Guinness Book of Records, it is considered the largest ancient castle in the world. Part of the castle is the Cathedral of St. Vitus, which is the largest and most important church in Prague and the coronation of Czech kings took place here and is the site of the remains of monarchs and archbishops.
You will also find crown jewels, the Old Royal Palace, the Golden Lane and beautiful gardens with city views.
CHARLES BRIDGE is the oldest preserved bridge over the Vltava River in Prague. It was the most important connection between Prague Castle and the Old Town. It is 516 meters long, decorated with 30 statues, mostly of Baroque style, from the 17th century and protected by three bridge towers.
The OLD TOWN SQUARE is one of the most famous squares in the world. Every hour, a lot of people gather here to see the amazing spectacle offered by the unique Astronomical Clock, where 12 apostles gradually appear. The town hall also offers views of the entire threshold from the tower. On the square there is a monument to Master Jan Hus and the Marian Column, the Týn Cathedral and the Church of St. Nicholas, and Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo houses.
WENCESLAS SQUARE is the main square of Prague. Its dominant feature is the statue of St. Wenceslas and the Prague National Museum.
PETŘÍN is a 327 m high hill in the center of Prague, which can be reached by cable car. At the top you will find an observatory, a mirror maze, the church of St. Vavřince and especially the Petřín lookout tower, from which there is a beautiful view of the whole of Prague.
VYŠEHRAD is a historic fortress on a rock above the right bank of the Vltava River. In the Vyšehrad cemetery with Slavín near the church of St. Peter and Paul are buried important Czech personalities.
TROJA CHATEAU is a Baroque building with an extensive garden, vineyard and chapel in the vicinity, you will also find the Prague Zoo.
ŽIŽKOV TV TOWER is one of Prague's landmarks and at the same time the tallest building (216 m) in the city. You can enjoy the view of the whole city with a delicious meal in the panoramic restaurant Oblaca.
