Welcome to another episode of Height Psychology. In this second episode of this series on anxiety, we will round off our exploration of anxiety from the psychological and philosophical perspectives.
Expect to learn about existential philosophy’s profound discourse on freedom and the burden of choice, along with its psychological counterpart, Logotherapy, developed by Viktor Frankl. Frankl’s emphasis on the pursuit of meaning introduces therapeutic tools such as dereflection and paradoxical intention as ways to navigate and mitigate anxiety. We will then segue to rationalism, which stresses the acquisition of adequate knowledge as key to overcoming anxiety; followed by a discussion on Eastern philosophies that highlight the illusion of self and the perpetuation of anxiety through attachment and desire.
This episode is also available in podcast format on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Anyway, enjoy!
