Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), written and directed by Daniel(s) Kwan and Scheinert, utilize language throughout their absurdist sci-fi comedy, but one of the more subtle instances is the use of bilingualism to highlight tensions and develop the character web of its central story. This short video essay examines this technique and how it effectively fleshes out the characters.
