Monmouth County - Asbury Park - 1222 Sunset Ave - Two Alarms

Just around 2:00 PM Asbury Park Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Sunset Ave for a reported structure fire. The first due fire officer reported a working fire with smoke showing from blocks away. They arrived to find a fire on the second floor in the rear of the home. Engine crew from 83-75 stretched a hand line into the house. Quickly getting water on the fire and knocking down the fire, soon after fire remained in the wall and ran the peak of the roof. Crews from 83-90 were on the roof, opening it up for ventilation while crews inside worked on opening it up to hit the fire with water. At this time most of the visible fire was knocked. A second alarm was transmitted and crews continued to open up and hit hot spots. There were no reported injuries and no cause of the fire yet.
