Free Description of a Crochet Pumpkin
Take a No. 5/5.5 hook and crochet the fabric in turning rows through the back loops of the stitches, ending each row with 1 chain stitch (ch) and starting from the second stitch from the hook.
Chain 14 and crochet as follows from the second stitch from the hook:
Rows 1-52: 14 slip stitches (sl st) (30 rows in total)
Fold the fabric in half and crochet 15 slip stitches. Secure the yarn and cut it, leaving a long tail for sewing. Tighten the opening using a needle, turn the piece inside out, and stuff it with fiberfill. Similarly, tighten the opposite opening with a needle, but do not cut the yarn.
Form the segments. Insert the needle with the yarn through the bottom center of the pumpkin and pull it out from the top, tightening the yarn. Repeat this process several times, secure the yarn, and cut it. Hide the end of the yarn inside the pumpkin.
Stem.
Round 1: 5 double crochet (dc) in a magic ring
Rounds 2: 5 dc
Round 3: 12 dc (12 total)
Secure the yarn and cut it, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Happy Crocheting!
