This cake with poppy seeds and custard filling was the favorite when I was allowed to watch my grandma bake. The grated crumbles on the cake are so delicious. Almost as good as with sour cream. 📋 INGREDIENTS:
Dough:
• 200 g powdered sugar (1 ¾ cups)
• 200 g butter (1 cup)
• 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
• 1 egg
• 375 g all-purpose flour (3 cups)
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1-2 teaspoons ground poppy seeds

Filling:
• 750 ml milk (3 ¼ cups)
• 74 g vanilla pudding powder or cornstarch (½ cup)
• 200 g ground poppy seeds (1 ¾ cups)
• 150 g sugar (¾ cup)

Bake: At 180°C (350°F) convection for 40 minutes.
Baking pan diameter: 26 cm (10 inches).
