This video gives an animated short introduction to the barrage type hydro electric power station and how it works. This type of power station is also referred to as a tidal power station, or, tidal power plant.

There are different barrage tidal generating methods, some generate power in only one flow direction, but the 3D model used in this video generates in both directions.

The video briefly introduces some of the major parts of a barrage tidal power plant, this includes the sluice gates, wicket gate, Kaplan turbine and barrage etc.

By the end of this video, you will know how electricity is made from a hydro power plant.
