Back in the Atlantic after our sojourn to the Caribbean to look after Harmony, We depart Porto Santo (Madeira Group) and enjoy a marvelous sail (well, except for the barfing) to the Amazing Azores! I have wanted to see them for fifteen years since I first heard about them from a friend who lived there (Thanks, Emma!) and I was delighted to find they exceeded all expectations. Rarely visited by those not on sailboats crossing the Atlantic, these beautiful remote islands have breathtaking scenery, friendly people and a delightful climate (in summer anyway!).

Our tour of the tiny island of Santa Maria was astounding and we agreed it was the most beautiful place we have ever seen and both of us are world travelers. We are eager to get back, but not with winter coming on.

Stay tuned for the next episode as we explore another Azorean island, Faial, and meet my sailing buddies on ‪@sailingladyaquitaine‬ !
