Learn how to paint a landscape, featuring mountains and a lake, in this beginner’s art class. For anyone who is new to oil painting or, wants to practice.

This video contains easy step-by-step guidance. There are some faster sections which are timelapse and designed to shorten the length of the video. If you find it’s bit fast and you are painting along, please press pause and play again when you feel ready to rejoin.

The painting was made on stretched canvas, using a range of brushes, a larger flat brush, a filbert brush and and a small silicone tool. Colours include: Titanium White; Lemon Yellow; Yellow Ochre; Cadmium Red; Crimson Alizarin; Permanent Mauve; Ceuruleum Blue; French Ultramarine; Primary Cyan and Sap Green

I used Liquin to quicken the drying time and to facilitate the flow of paint. You might wish to use a painting medium such as linseed oil. Please note that the drying time will be longer and you will need to dispose of any rags/cloths used safely after each session. To clean the brushes, I use vegetable soap or, Bristle Magic.
