I needed an excuse to test out my new Osprey Exos 48L backpack and Alps Mountaineering Reliance quilt so I found this popular day hike and overnight camping area near Mt. Rainier. Unfortunately it was not the best weather and the first day was quite chilly at night but Summet Lake is a great spot for all kinds of hikers and adventure seekers. Lots of hikers and dogs so if you need people around you in the middle of the woods, this place is for you. I suggest leaving for the trial on a Friday, early as it is quite the popular trail.
