With the poor weather relenting we managed to get the pike rods back out in front of the cameras, as you will see the bite indication was next to useless with the fish having time to pick up the bait and turn it around in its mouth with only a single beep on the alarms.
The set up being used was a front roller wheel alarm with carp style indicator, the mono mainline was fished relatively tight with a slight drop on the bobbin.
Rig wise was a simple running lead to a twin treble wire trace, this is a set up that has been used for years and I wasn't expecting it to be as inefficient as this.
We will be out in the near future playing around with braided mainlines , different lead systems to see if we can really perfect the indication. Its shocking how much time we are actually giving them to really swallow the bait.
