Thailand's Special Express 9 is one of Southeast Asia's most popular tourist trains, connecting the capital of Bangkok to Chiang Mai in the jungle-bound north. I took a ride on their deluxe first class sleeper car, including shower, food, and solo occupancy of the berth all the way to Chiang Mai and I really enjoyed the trip!
