Join me as we hike southbound (SOBO) on the Appalachian Trail from Great Barrington, Massachusetts to Kent, Connecticut. It's five days and fifty miles of autumn backpacking adventure through the southern Berkshires. Highlights of this section hike include foggy ridge walks, a few challenging river crossing and peaceful miles along the Housatonic River.

This video includes the first two days of our 5-day backpacking trip. We stay at The Hemlocks Shelter and the newly constructed Riga Shelter. We get foggy views from Mount Everett and Mount Race. We also hike through the lush Sages Ravine.
