YA Fantasy had my heart and looking solely at the covers lately there's an explosion of these dark grungey covers. This is one example of some of the trends I've been seeing in YA book covers lately. It involves "random objects with heavy contrast, probably a lot of dark shadows and lots of texture".... to put it bluntly!
