"만선"은 전라남도의 섬 거문도에서 불리는 뱃노래에 타악을 결합 하여 풍어의 기쁨을 표현한 곡이다. 왁자지껄한 출어의 현장과 그물을 올리는 과정, 고기를 가득 싣고 만선가를 부르며 돌아오는 과정이 타악과 소리, 태평소 선율 속에 활기차게 그려져 있다. 노젓는 소리, 올래 소리, 썰 소리, 어영차 소리를 중심으로 노동요 특유의 메기고 받는 구조는 살리되 사설과 장단을 압축하고, 여기에 진도 풍물 가락, 임실 필봉가락등을 더해 음악적 확장을 꾀했다. 풍성한 타악과 소리의 울림 속에서 대동세상을 지향하며 소박하게 살아 가는 민중들의 건강한 삶을 느낄 수 있다.

“Manseon” (lit. a ship with a full load of fish) is a song that expresses the joy of a big catch by combining percussion with boat songs sung on Geomundo, a southwestern island. The lively scene of sailing out for fish, the process of pulling in the net, and the process of returning with a full load of fish and singing a song for celebrating it are vividly depicted in the percussion, the vocal, and the melody of taepyeongso (shawm). With the focus of the boat songs, the call and response form typically featured in labor songs is preserved while the lyrics and rhythms are compressed. Here, the musical expansion has been made by adding rhythms from the drumming ensemble performance as Jindo Pungmul and Imsil Pilbong nongak.
