An important part of the DO Over Series in this episode we are talking about telling the truth. Have you ever done something wrong and then lied about doing it? In that moment when your parents or teachers ask you if you did it, you can be tempted to lie or blame it on someone else. Telling the truth is the right thing to do, even if it means you might be in trouble.

The Bible tells us that lying is wrong. God doesn’t lie and he wants us to be honest too. Telling lies can become a bad habit. When you tell one lie, you often must tell another lie to cover up the previous lie and on and on. If you continue telling lies, you might not be trusted as a person who tells the truth.

There is good news though. You can have a do over! You can pray and tell God you are sorry for lying. You can also go to your parents or teachers and apologize. Every day you can ask God to help you tell the truth. This takes courage and practice. Don’t be afraid! You can do it.
