Dr. Michael McCormick, assistant professor of American history at Morris College, talks about the importance of the Freedom Riders to the overall Civil Rights Movement. Two of the riders were students at Morris when they took part in the mobile demonstrations; one of them, Ivor Moore, participated in Monday night's sneak preview of the PBS documentary "Freedom Riders" and a panel discussion of the 1961 events at ETV Sumter. The other, Mae Frances Moultrie Howard, died last year. Both are featured prominently in the documentary that will air at 9 p.m. next Monday.
