On April 13, 2013, Guillermo Rigondeaux outclassed Nonito Donaire in a tactical bout to unify the WBA and WBO super bantamweight titles at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Rigondeaux used his superb defensive skills and counterpunching to frustrate Donaire throughout the fight, controlling the pace and distance. Despite a late knockdown, Rigondeaux dominated most of the rounds, earning a unanimous decision victory.
